Defiant ATA Moves to Delay Clean Air
The nation’s largest trucking lobby yesterday took legal action against
proposals to clean up pollution by the nation’s two largest ports. The action
confounds the claims of Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster and the Long Beach Harbor
Commission that passing a weaker Clean Trucks Program would allow the ports to
avoid litigation and speed up the process of cleaning the air. See the press release from the Coalition for Clean & Safe Ports on the ATA's actions here, and find additional comments and analysis here and here.
